About this guide

The short answer

Downtown Clayton is an independent guide to the downtown of Clayton, Georgia, the Rabun County seat, published by Gold Peach Realty, a North Georgia real estate brokerage. We link every fact to its source, date every check, mark anything not yet confirmed and correct mistakes when readers tell us.

Who publishes this guide

This site is a community guide published by Gold Peach Realty, a real estate brokerage that works across the North Georgia mountains. We make it because people deciding whether to visit Clayton, or whether to live here, deserve one place with clear, dated answers: what is open downtown on which day, what is on, which waterfall or overlook fits the time you have, what the park permits and fees really are, and how the town got here.

We are not the City of Clayton, Rabun County, Georgia State Parks, the U.S. Forest Service or any business we write about. Those organizations run the events and set the rules, and every page links to them so you can confirm anything that matters before you travel.

How we check facts

  • Dates, addresses, rules and numbers link to the organization that published them, whether that is the City of Clayton, Rabun County, Georgia State Parks or the U.S. Forest Service, with the date of our last check.
  • When an organizer in Clayton has not yet put out this year’s date, we note that it is still to be announced instead of reusing last year’s.
  • Walking times in our tools are straight-line estimates from map coordinates, and drive times are computed routes on OpenStreetMap data. Both are labelled that way.
  • We do not make up prices, ratings, statistics or reviews for Clayton businesses or trails. If it cannot be sourced, it is not here.
  • All photographs are real and credited, with licences listed on the photo and film credits page. The home page film uses only those photographs; nothing in it is generated.

How we use AI

AI tools help us draft; people check every fact before it publishes. Articles are bylined to the Downtown Clayton Editorial Team, the people who check them, rather than to an invented author.

Clayton in Rabun County, not Clayton County

This guide covers the City of Clayton, the county seat of Rabun County in the northeast Georgia mountains, and its Main Street. Clayton County, south of Atlanta around Jonesboro, is a different place, and so are the towns named Clayton in North Carolina and other states. If a search result is about Clayton County events, schools or homes, it is not about this town.

Advertising, sponsorship and listings

Gold Peach Realty’s listings appear on this guide and are labelled as the brokerage’s own, with its contact details on every page. We do not sell rankings or reviews to Main Street businesses. If local sponsorship is ever added, it will be marked sponsored where it appears. Ask about it through the contact form.

Corrections

If a trail closure, park fee or shop hour in Clayton has changed, tell us through the contact form or at info@goldpeachrealty.com. We will check the source, fix the page and record the new checked date.

Dates, rules and hours can change. The organizers have the final word: City of Clayton
